MasterKey Ministries of Grayson County Inc. is a nonprofit faith-based organization strengthening families by helping them overcome physical, educational and spiritual obstacles to success. We focus on the low-income and limited-English populations in our community, offering programs to help meet immediate needs, empowerment programs that lead to a better future, and the eternal hope only found in the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
To meet immediate needs, we offer the MasterKey Food Assistance program, operating two food pantries for Sherman and Grayson County families. For longer term, we provide educational support for children and English proficiency for adults. Our key educational programs include our After School Program providing homework assistance and tutoring for school children; MasterKey Bilingual Academy, an affordable preschool for 3- and 4-year-olds from low-income families; Summer Learning for children of low-income or limited English households, and Adult Education with ESL, GED prep classes and Citizenship Classes.
One of our newest programs, Getting Ahead in a Just-Gettin’-By World, is for people who are living in poverty or unstable situations. It’s a 16-week class that focuses on helping individuals and families build economic stability and, in the process, creating a better future for our community. Getting Ahead is a program developed by aha! Process and sponsored locally by Texoma Council of Governments.
